Every top footballer was once a grass-roots player.
Each one progressed through the development stages of free play, organised activity and, when their talent was identified, into serious, deliberate practice in a professional environment.

"It's about understanding the type of development that players need at certain ages - and the types of approach that will relate to progressing those stages. PFC is looking at the window of development where the players are more receptive to skill aquirement. We've got to give the players the technical tools that will allow them to solve a whole variety of problems. It's all about change in approach and a change in culture - of the way we want to develop players."
