Attending any of these courses will improve your safety, and add to your enjoyment by providing you with increased confidence through knowledge. RYA VHF/GMDSS CourseThis one day course for the Short Range Certificate (SRC) covers all the radio procedures to enable you to legally use a VHF radio. Radio users that are not operating under license may receive heavy fines. This course is mandatory if you wish to attend an RYA Yachtmaster practical exam or gain a Commercial Endorsement.

Day Skipper ShorebasedIn our opinion this is the most important course in the RYA syllabus. Beginners and Crew who would like to become actively involved in navigation should attend. The syllabus provides would be Skippers with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. Basic seamanship, meteorology and an introduction to navigation with a basic knowledge of lights also included - in case of late return to your marina.

Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased CourseA Course for more experienced Skippers, which takes them up to the theory knowledge required for Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Practical Examination. Course includes, Navigation, meteorology, collision avoidance, safety and passage planning.
