How to Get to Eldon Bureau
BY RAIL
Newcastle Central Station is on the main East Coast rail line and is also well served by cross-country services from Birmingham.
On arrival at Newcastle Central Station, a taxi to Eldon Bureau is probably the easiest option. There is a taxi rank directly opposite the station. The ride to St. James Street should only take 5 minutes and should cost around £5.
ON FOOT
Eldon Bureau is situated in the Gallowgate area of Newcastle, next door to Newcastle United's St James Park football stadium, which is visible from most parts of the city.
Eldon Bureau's offices are located within the CD GROUP building, a town terraced building on St. James Street which is accessible from Strawberry Place (opposite the Strawberry Pub).
On arrival visitors should ring our buzzer where they will be greeted by our Receptionist.
BY METRO
The nearest Metro station is St James Park which is a 2 minute walk from our offices. Eldon Bureau is also only a 5 minute walk from Monument Metro.
BY CAR
Our offices can be reached by car via all of the major routes into Newcastle city centre - please see the map below for directions. Details of parking at and around Eldon Bureau are also provided below.
DISABLED VISITORS
Access to Eldon Bureau is via the stairs at the front entrance; however our rear entrance provides disabled access.
Our Location
Our Headquarters are located in Newcastle upon Tyne city centre, just a 10 minute walk from the Central Station and only 25 minutes from Newcastle Airport via the Metro rapid transit system. Car Parking is available near our offices (see below for details).
Pitt Street (opposite St James Park): Free and no apparent parking restrictions
St James Park football stadium: Ticket parking - 40p per hour (8am to 10pm)
Westgate Road/Thornton Street (opposite Tilleys bar): 50p per hour (8am to 6pm)
Bath Lane: Limited metered parking - 60p per hour - maximum 1 hour stay
St James Park Metro station: Ticket parking - 80p per hour (8am to 6pm)
Gallowgate/Strawberry Lane: Ticket parking - 70p per hour (8am to 6pm)
Eldon Garden external car park: £1.10 per hour
Eldon Garden internal multi-storey: £1.20 per hour
The Gate multi-storey: £1.50 for 1st hour, then sliding scale (24 hour access)
